The meaning of the 8 textbooks
True Parents have already prepared the last words I will give to humankind. These have been prepared based on my triumphs over six or seven life-or-death situations, including six periods of 10 unjust imprisonment. I am leaving behind eight textbooks and teaching materials for humankind to use for all eternity. Altogether, these are published in almost a thousand volumes. They are ‘The Sermons of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon’, ‘Exposition of the Divine Principle’, ‘Cheon Seong Gyeong’, ‘The Family Pledge’, ‘Pyeong Hwa Shin Gyeong (Messages of Peace)’, ‘True Family Gateway to Heaven’, ‘Owner of Peace, Owner of Lineage’ and ‘World Scripture’. These are textbooks you will have to read and study even after you go to the spirit world. They are not just teachings that come from the mind of one person; they are textbooks and teaching materials that teach the heavenly way that God has granted to His suffering children for their salvation. If you love me, you must love the textbooks even more than you love me. Only then will the destination you are meant to reach and the future heaven where you can live be prepared for you. Because all the contents of heaven and earth are connected within the textbooks, even if you are on earth, the path to support the transcendent heavenly God will not be blocked, and the path will not diverge but will lead directly. Even if everything about the Unification Church disappears, the task remains to know its thoughts and contents fully and to guide others with that knowledge. How serious is this issue? That’s why my words alone are not enough. That’s why I created the textbooks. I created textbooks that can address issues arising from the spirit world and the physical world, from the past, present, and future, and explain the problematic events that may come up as we live on. You must know that True Parents created this textbook with all his heart and soul before he died (referring to 'True Families—Gateway to Heaven’, 'Pyeong Hwa Shin Gyeong', 'Cheon Seong Gyeong', etc.) and struggles to protect it. (05/15/2009)
That's why I've been creating these textbooks until now. Do you carry around such important textbooks folded up? Do you know how valuable this booklet is? Are you just carrying around such an important book folded up and putting it aside? You might think I'm repeating myself, but you shouldn't think that way. I'm not repeating the same thing. What matters is whether the Words can be fully experienced. All the content of the providence is supposed to be connected through important events centered around me until January 13, 2013. This is a textbook that children in families can learn from kindergarten through high school and university in the future. True Parents will leave it as their final gift when they depart from this earth, and it is the result of their achievements centered on the work and teachings they have imparted until now. Without me, you would be unable to find the right direction and could fall into confusion, so to prevent that risk, this is a textbook that can be learned not only in elementary, middle, and high school but also in university and graduate school. ...What is the called responsibility of True Parents? They have established themselves within God's will and taught humanity, and they have created a textbook that encompasses all of that content. This textbook is something that cannot be bought with all of one's wealth, one's country, or even the world. It is written with 1/3 to 1/4 of new words that are not found in any encyclopedia. Therefore, it is an encyclopedia for the creation of a new world of culture centered on God, and such an encyclopedia can only be one, not two. (07/13/2009)
You must have Pyeong Hwa Hun Gyeong (older version of Pyeong Hwa Shin Gyeong), The Family Pledge, and Cheon Seong Gyeong. If you hold fast to these words and devote yourself wholeheartedly, blessings will spring forth. (09/25/2008)
