As we walk along our life’s path, where should we be heading? Our destination is to possess God’s love – to be owners of God’s love. To possess the love of God is life’s highest and final goal. Everyone, men and women alike, should take the path to this destination. Our life path should be a journey to the God of infinite love. Of all the ways that human beings live, this is the loftiest path. On that path we may face life-and-death situations even ten times or a hundred times, and we may have to continue the search even after we die, yet we never stop searching for the love of God. What is our greatest desire? It is to possess God’s love. You may have met God, but if you did not discover a love that is even more precious, then you have not made God your own. Therefore, you must strive to possess God’s love. Once you have love, there would be no problem even if God were not with you. When we possess God’s love, God’s love becomes my love and my love becomes God’s love. The internal and the external become one for the first time. A nation based on such love would be an ideal community. There would not be upper and lower classes. When we dwell in that place of love, we feel that everything under the sun is good and exists for our sake. God’s love has that quality. Therefore the heavenly world, the Kingdom of Heaven, is a world filled with love. This is our final destination.

인생의 갈 길이 무엇이냐? 하나님의 사랑을 점령하는 것이 인생의 갈 길입니다. 하나님의 사랑을 점령하는 것이 인생이 가야 할 최고의 종착점입니다. 이 길은 남자도 여자도 다 가야 됩니다. 모든 사람이 다 가야 하는 것입니다. 인생의 갈 길은 무한하신 사랑의 하나님을 찾는 것입니다. 열 번이고 백 번이고 죽을 고비를 거쳐서라도, 죽어서라도 끊임없이 찾아가야 할 하나님의 사랑을 찾는 것이 인생의 최고 갈 길입니다. 욕망의 끝이 어디냐? 하나님의 사랑을 점령하는 것입니다. 하나님을 점령했다고 하더라도, 그 가운데에 더 귀한 사랑을 점령하지 못하면 하나님은 자기의 하나님이 아닙니다. 그러므로 하나님의 사랑을 점령해야 됩니다. 사랑만 점령하면 하나님은 안 계셔도 괜찮다는 겁니다. 그의 것이 내 것이요, 내 것이 그의 것이 될 때, 비로소 안팎이 하나되는 것입니다. 그러한 나라가 상하의 등급이 없는 이상의 본국(本國)이 되는 것입니다. 그러한 자리에 눕게 되면, 천하에 있는 모든 존재가 좋게 보이지 않는 것이 없고, 천하에 있는 모든 존재가 자신을 위해서 있지 않은 것이 없다고 느껴지는 것입니다. 그러한 것이 하나님의 사랑이기 때문에 오늘날 인간이 갈 천상세계 즉 천국은 사랑으로 충만된 곳입니다.

Яким шляхом слід іти в житті? Шляхом оволодіння Божою любов'ю. Заволодіти Божою любов'ю — це найвище призначення в житті. Цим шляхом мають пройти і чоловіки, і жінки. Всі повинні ним пройти. Наш життєвий шлях має привести нас до нескінченного Бога любові. Найвищий шлях у житті — це безперервні пошуки Божої любові, попри десятки й сотні смертельних випробувань, навіть попри смерть. Де закінчуються бажання? У володінні любов'ю Бога. Навіть якщо ви захопили Бога, але при цьому не змогли заволодіти більш цінним — любов'ю, Бог не є вашим Богом. Тому вам потрібно заволодіти Божою любов'ю. Якщо заволодіти Його любов'ю, то все буде гаразд, навіть коли Бога не буде поруч. Коли те, що належить Йому, стане вашим, а те, що належить вам, стане Його, тоді внутрішнє й зовнішнє стане одним цілим. Така країна стала б ідеальною Батьківщиною без вищих і нижчих класів. Коли ви потрапите в таке місце, то відчуєте, що на світі немає жодної неприємної вам речі і що на світі немає нічого, що не існувало б заради вас. Оскільки такою є Божа любов, то небесний світ, тобто Боже Царство, куди сьогодні прагнуть люди, є місцем, сповненим любові.

Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon gave this speech on the occasion of the founding of the Universal Peace Federation on September 12, 2005. It was also given in the UPF inaugural world speaking tour to 10 nations and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations in 2006.

Peace Message I

This speech was given by both Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon during a series of assemblies for Ambassadors for Peace, Segye Times investigative reporters and other leaders in Korean society, which took place in March 2006, and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations during the same year.
