Man symbolizes heaven and woman symbolizes earth. When the two become one, they represent the natural harmony of heaven and earth. Men and women are different. Men’s muscles are rugged and women’s are smooth. Men have beards while women do not. Women’s voices are high and men’s are low. Yet we see their contrasting features fitting together well as harmony unfolds between them. We may liken them to the human body: the right side and the left side complement each other to form a whole structure. The two halves are bound tightly together. Ladies and gentlemen, do you like only things that are high or only things that are low? Or do you prefer a pleasing balance of high and low that creates harmony? Estimating from the line formed by the horizon, fish live below the line while mammals and birds live above it. Women menstruate once a month, like the ebb and flow of the tides pulled by the moon. In breathing we inhale and exhale. Likewise, a man and a woman need to establish a line of balance and create harmony. People like to go to amusement parks with their rides that go up and down, because their motion duplicates the motion of the universe. Which do you think is more pleasing, men socializing only with other men, or men and women socializing together? Men and women together is better, because it better reflects the harmony of the universe. We should live in step with the beat of the universe, the universe that promotes harmony through the harmony of yin and yang.

When a man and a woman create loving harmony, they initiate circular movement. When a man and a woman love each other and become one flesh, and then bear the fruits of love, God descends to them, they ascend towards Him, and they meet in the middle. They form a sphere with God at the center and begin spherical movement. Out of that divine center, family members can make relationships in all directions. At the center of the sphere, love’s harmony is realized, and life emerges and grows. The center of the sphere is the basis for equality between the sexes and for the philosophy that family members should hold all things in common. This is so because the power of love is there. Love is the force that embraces all the interactions in the universe.

For human beings, love is eternal. It is one, and can never be divided. Once a man and a woman are joined in love, they are to live together for a lifetime and then eternally even after death. They are two persons, but by revolving in oneness with each other they become as one body. When the two people become one, they revolve with God to form a four-position foundation of love. This is the ideal realm of love. Only true love dwells there; false love cannot invade. When a man and woman are blessed by God and achieve this perfect unity, God comes to them freely. In the four-position foundation of love, the husband and wife will grow to love each other with their hearts by loving each other with their bodies, and when they love each other with their hearts, their bodies will follow.

남자는 하늘을 상징하고, 여자는 땅을 상징합니다. 두 사람이 합하여 조화를 이루어야 합니다. 남자와 여자는 서로 다릅니다. 남자의 근육은 울퉁불퉁하고 여자는 미끈합니다. 남자는 수염이 나는데 여자는 수염이 나지 않습니다. 목소리도 다릅니다. 남녀를 비교해 보면 상대적인 것이 어울립니다. 조화가 벌어지는 것입니다. 사람이란 육적 구조를 볼 때 좌우로 상대적입니다. 반반을 딱 붙여 놓았기 때문입니다. 여러분, 높기만 하거나 낮기만 한 것이 좋습니까? 조화를 이루는 것이 좋습니다. 수평선을 중심으로 아래는 어류가 살고, 위에는 포유류, 조류 등이 살고 있습니다. 여자는 한 달에 한 번씩 생리를 합니다. 달을 중심삼고 조수가 바뀌는 것 같이 여자도 마찬가지입니다. 호흡작용과 같습니다. 남자와 여자가 조화를 이루어 평형선(平衡線)을 이루어야 합니다. 올라가고 내려가고 도는 각종 시설이 구비된 디즈니랜드를 사람들이 왜 좋아하느냐 하면, 우주가 그렇기 때문입니다. 남자끼리 화동(和動)하는 것과 남자와 여자가 화동하는 것 중에 어느 편이 기분이 좋겠습니까? 남자와 여자가 화동하는 것이 좋습니다. 우주가 그렇기 때문입니다. 우주가 음양의 조화를 이루어 화동하기 때문에 박자를 맞추어야 하는 것입니다.

이성간에 사랑의 조화를 이루면 하나의 원형운동을 이루게 됩니다. 이성이 사랑으로 일체가 되고 사랑의 열매를 맺게 되면, 하나님은 내려오고 인간은 올라가게 되어 중앙에서 만나게 되는 것입니다. 하나님이 이 원형의 구심점이 되어 구형운동이 이루어지게 됩니다. 구심점에서는 사방 어디든지 통할 수 있는 것입니다. 그 구심점은 사랑의 조화가 이루어지는 곳이고, 생명이 태동하는 자리이며, 평등주의와 공동주의의 시발점인 것입니다. 그곳에는 사랑의 힘이 있기 때문입니다. 그러므로 우주의 모든 작용과 포용하는 힘은 사랑인 것입니다.

인간에게 있어서 사랑은 영원한 것이며, 둘이 아니고 하나입니다. 남자와 여자 사이에 사랑으로 맺어지면 지상에서 백년해로를 해야 하고, 죽어서도 영원히 함께 살아가게 되어 있습니다. 몸은 둘이지만 하나되어 돌아감으로써 일체가 되는 것입니다. 두 몸이 하나되면, 하나님과 같이 돌게 되어 사랑의 사위기대를 이루게 되니, 그것이 바로 사랑의 이상세계인 것입니다. 거기에는 거짓 사랑이 침범할 수 없으며, 오직 참사랑만이 임재하게 됩니다. 하나님을 중심삼고 남자와 여자가 축복을 받아 완성된 자리를 이루면 하나님은 언제나 찾아오시게 됩니다. 사랑의 사위기대를 이루게 되면 상대편을 몸을 통하여 마음까지 사랑하게 되고, 마음을 사랑하게 되면 몸까지 따라오게 되어 있다는 것입니다.

Чоловік символізує небеса, а жінка — землю. Потрібно, щоб вони об'єдналися та створили гармонію. Чоловік і жінка відрізняються одне від одного. У чоловіків м'язи горбисті, а в жінок — округлі. У чоловіків ростуть вуса й борода, а в жінок — ні. Голоси в них теж відрізняються. Якщо порівняти чоловіка та жінку, видно, що вони взаємно доповнюють одне одного, і від цього виникає гармонія. Якщо подивитися на фізичну структуру людини, її права та ліва сторони доповнюють одна одну; ці дві половинки невід'ємно пов'язані між собою. Як ви вважаєте, чи це добре, якщо буде існувати тільки високе чи тільки низьке? Добре, коли є гармонія. Нижче від лінії горизонту живуть риби, вище — ссавці, птахи тощо. У жінок раз на місяць бувають менструації. Їхня циклічність схожа на припливи та відпливи, які залежать від фаз місяця, або на процес дихання. Чоловік і жінка мають досягнути гармонії та лінії рівноваги. Чому людям подобається Діснейленд, де працюють різноманітні атракціони, на яких можна підійматися, опускатися, обертатися? Бо так влаштований Всесвіт. Що вам приємніше: гармонійна взаємодія між чоловіками чи гармонійна взаємодія між чоловіком і жінкою? Нам подобається, коли ладнають чоловік і жінка, тому що такий Всесвіт. Всесвіт взаємодіє на основі гармонії інь і ян, тому ми мусимо підлаштовуватися під цей ритм.

Коли чоловік і жінка досягають гармонії в любові, починається коловий рух. Якщо між ними досягнуто єдності в любові і ця любов приносить плоди, Бог спускається до людей, люди підіймаються до Бога, і вони зустрічаються в центрі. Бог стає центром тяжіння цього кола, і починається сферичний рух. З центральної точки можна потрапити в будь-який напрямок. Саме в ній встановлюється гармонія любові, в ній зароджується життя, в ній починається егалітаризм та колективізм. А все тому, що в ній є сила любові. Отже, сила, яка охоплює всі взаємодії Всесвіту, — це любов.

Для людини любов є вічною та єдиною. Якщо чоловіка та жінку зв'язує любов, вони повинні в злагоді дожити до старості та навіть після смерті жити разом вічно. У них два тіла, проте, об'єднавшись одне з одним, вони починають обертатися та стають одним цілим. Об'єднавшись, два тіла починають обертатися разом з Богом і створюють чотирьохпозиційну основу любові. Це і є ідеальний світ любові. В нього не може вторгнутися неправдива любов; тільки істинна любов буде перебувати в такому світі. Коли чоловік і жінка отримують від Бога Благословення та досягають досконалості, Він може приходити до них, коли завгодно. Створення чотирьохпозиційної основи любові дозволяє вам любити душу своєї половини через її тіло, а якщо ви полюбите душу, тіло піде слідом.

Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon gave this speech on the occasion of the founding of the Universal Peace Federation on September 12, 2005. It was also given in the UPF inaugural world speaking tour to 10 nations and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations in 2006.

Peace Message I

This speech was given by both Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon during a series of assemblies for Ambassadors for Peace, Segye Times investigative reporters and other leaders in Korean society, which took place in March 2006, and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations during the same year.
