You should discover God’s love. How can we characterize God’s love? It can be compared to a warm spring day, with white clouds gently floating in the sky, shimmering waves of warm air rising from the ground, and insects flying to and fro. Ants are crawling in and out of their nests, exploring the ground. Pussy willows are in bloom by the stream. Frogs sing new songs of spring, bees swarm and butterflies flutter about. Lying in the grass, you feel a happy, sleepy intoxication come over you. You feel like resting there forever. This is just how God feels when He finds His ideal partner. God likewise feels as if He were in a beautiful flower garden, with butterflies and bees flying around. When imagining this, do you feel good or bad? Dull-witted people may not be aware that God has feelings. But truly, He feels good. When you run into someone whom you are pleased to see, you grasp his hand firmly and shake hands. When someone greets you joyfully, saying, “Wow, it’s been a long time!” and shakes your hand firmly, does it make you feel good or bad? [Audience: “Good.”] If anyone says it feels bad, go ahead and kick him! Do you like it when someone grasps your hand firmly? [“Yes, we do.”] You mean you want to like it. How can you say for sure that you like it? You have to know the person to like it. If the person is a stranger, how can you like it when he grabs your hand? But if he is someone you are fond of, then when you grasp each other’s hands, you don’t want to let go. You young ladies here, think of how it will be when you are married. If your husband loves you, you feel as if you don’t need anything else in the world. You want to live your whole life staying by his side. I enjoy watching a man and woman holding hands, especially when the man’s hand is as rough as a cow’s front hoof. We enjoy seeing scenes like that in the movies. But if the woman were to say to the man, “Oh, you have such pretty hands,” the man would be offended. This is how it is. Love is eternal. Love is not two; it is one. It is two becoming one. When a man and a woman become a couple and love each other, they are bonded together. Of course this does not happen literally, but in heart. In fact, they reach a level even higher than this; they touch God’s love. If you live with God’s love, will you become one or not? Think about it. You are destined to become one.

When a man and a woman fall in love, they experience all sorts of wonderful things. But if you could taste the profound experience of God’s love, you would find it incomparably greater than any worldly love. When a person has really tasted God’s love, no amount of difficulty or sorrow can defeat him. He dwells in a realm of absolute freedom. Such a realm truly exists; the question is how to find it.

God’s love can basically be divided into three major types: parental love, conjugal love and children’s love. God’s love is the core that fills them and unites them all.

여러분들이 하나님의 사랑을 한 번 알아보십시오. 하나님의 사랑을 무어라고 표현할 수 있을까요? 그것은 마치 따스한 봄날에 하늘에는 흰구름이 두둥실 떠있고, 땅에는 아지랑이가 아른거리고, 벌레가 나돌고, 개미들도 세상 구경하겠다고 발랑발랑 기어나왔다 들어갔다 하고, 졸졸졸 흐르는 개울가에는 버들강아지가 움트고, 개구리가 봄날의 새노래를 부르고, 떼를 지어 날아드는 벌나비를 반기는 그런 환경과 마찬가지입니다. 그런 환경에 취해서 잠이 드는 것 같은데 잠은 들지 않고 기분 좋아서 영원히 좋다 할 수 있는 그런 맛이라는 것입니다. 하나님이 찾으시는 이상상대(理想相對)를 중심삼고 느끼는 기분은 나비가 날고 벌이 날아드는 꽃동산과 같은 것입니다. 이것을 생각만 해도 기분이 좋아요, 나빠요? 이 둔한 남자들은 그것을 모를 겁니다. 기분 좋다는 것입니다. 반가운 사람을 만나게 되면 손을 꽉 쥐고 악수를 합니다. 악수할 때 반갑다고 '아하, 이거 오래간만이군' 하면서 손을 꽉 잡으면 기분이 좋아요, 나빠요? 기분 나쁘다고 하는 사람이 있다면 '에라, 이자식아'하면서 발로 차버리라는 것입니다. 반가우면 손을 꽉 쥐어요, 안 쥐어요? 여러분은 그렇게 하면 좋아합니까? "좋아합니다." 좋아하고 싶은 것이지 좋아하기는 뭘 좋아해요? 알아야 좋아하는 것이지 모르면서 어떻게 좋아합니까? 그렇게 좋아하며 잡으면 손을 풀지 못한다는 것입니다. 여기 있는 아가씨들, 시집가서 남편이 자기를 사랑해 주면 기분이 어떨지 한 번 생각해 보십시오. 좋겠어요, 나쁘겠어요? 사람은 솔직해야 합니다. 사랑해 준다면 이 세상에 부러울 것이 없다는 것입니다. 아예 남편 옆에 딱 붙어 가지고 사는 겁니다. 남자가 소 앞발 같은 손으로 여자 손을 꽉 잡아 주는 것이 좋습니다. 영화를 보아도 그런 영화를 보고 싶어합니다. 여자가 남자에게 '아이구, 당신 손은 참으로 곱소' 하면 기분 나쁘다는 것입니다. 그렇게 되어 있는 것입니다. 사랑은 영원한 것입니다. 사랑은 둘이 아니라 하나입니다. 하나된다는 것입니다. 남자와 여자가 커플(Couple;한쌍)을 이루어 사랑을 하면 딱 맞붙어 버리는 것입니다. 그렇게까지는 안 되겠지만 이 이상의 심정까지 간다는 것입니다. 그것이 바로 하나님의 사랑이라는 것입니다. 그런 사랑을 가지고 산다면 하나되겠어요, 안 되겠어요? 생각해 보세요. 전부 다 하나되게 되어 있다는 것입니다.

남녀지간에 사랑하게 되면 별의별 일이 다 벌어집니다. 그렇지요? 그러나 하나님을 찾아갈 수 있는 길을 알아 가지고 하나님의 사랑을 진짜 맛보면…. 그 하나님의 사랑은 세상에 어떤 것과도 비할 수 없는 것입니다. 그런 사랑을 맛본 사람이 있다면 어떠한 고난도 그를 점령하지 못하고, 어떠한 슬픔도 그를 점령하지 못할 것입니다. 그런 절대적인 해방의 권이 있을 게 아니겠습니까? 이것을 찾는 것이 문제가 되는 것입니다.

하나님의 사랑은 크게 3대 사랑으로 나타납니다. 그것은 부모의 사랑, 부부의 사랑, 자녀의 사랑입니다. 이 3대 사랑이 하나로 일치되는 중심이 하나님의 사랑입니다.

На березі дзюркотливого струмка верба розпустила свої китиці, жаби співають нову пісню весни, рояться бджоли та пурхають метелики. І ось сп'янілі від цієї обстановки ви зібрались було задрімати, але не заснули і відчуваєте, що на душі у вас так приємно, що можете бути в цьому настрої вічно. Коли Бог знаходить Свого ідеального партнера, Він відчуває Себе, як у квітучому саду, де літають метелики та бджоли. Від однієї лише думки про це вам стає добре, чи не так? Ех, хлопці, вам, недотепам, напевно, цього не зрозуміти. Кажу вам, що це приємно! Коли ви зустрічаєте людину, яку раді бачити, ви міцно тиснете їй руку. Вітаючись, ви стискаєте її долоню та кричите: «Гей, скільки води спливло!» У такі моменти у вас гарно на душі чи ні? Негіднику, який скаже, що йому це не подобається, треба дати стусана. Коли ви раді, ви тиснете руку людині чи ні? Вам подобається це робити? (Подобається.) Ми хочемо робити те, що нам подобається, але що в цьому такого гарного? Якщо ви знаєте людину, вам гарно, ви стискаєте її руку і відпустити не можете. От ви, дівчата, подумайте. Коли ви одружитесь і ваш чоловік проявлятиме до вас своє кохання, що ви відчуєте? Вам це сподобається чи ні? Будьте чесними. Якщо жінка кохана, їй нічому заздрити в цьому світі. Вона приклеюється до свого чоловіка та живе поруч із ним. Їй подобається, коли її чоловік своєю долонею, схожою на коров'яче копито, стискає її руку. У фільмах нам теж хочеться бачити такі сцени. Якщо жінка скаже чоловіку: «Яка в тебе витончена рука!» — він образиться. Ось такі справи. Любов вічна. Не буває дві любові, вона одна. Вона означає єдність. Коли чоловік і жінка стають парою та кохають одне одного, вони просто приклеюються одне до одного. Ну, до цього не доходить, але у своєму шімджон вони йдуть навіть далі. Це і є Божа любов. Якщо люди живуть з такою любов'ю, то об'єднаються вони чи ні? Подумайте. Звісно, вони об'єднаються.

Коли чоловік і жінка кохають одне одного, що тільки не відбувається. Чи не так? Проте, якщо чоловік розвідає шлях, яким можна прийти до Бога, і відчує справжній смак Божої любові… Ця любов не зрівняється ні з чим на світі. Ніякі страждання та печалі не оволодіють людиною, яка пізнала її смак. Це значить, що в неї з'являється сфера абсолютного звільнення, чи не так? Проблема в тому, щоб її знайти.

Божа любов проявляється в трьох основних видах любові: батьківській любові, подружньому коханні та любові дітей. Центром, у якому ці три види любові зливаються воєдино, є Божа любов.

Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon gave this speech on the occasion of the founding of the Universal Peace Federation on September 12, 2005. It was also given in the UPF inaugural world speaking tour to 10 nations and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations in 2006.

Peace Message I

This speech was given by both Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon during a series of assemblies for Ambassadors for Peace, Segye Times investigative reporters and other leaders in Korean society, which took place in March 2006, and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations during the same year.
