A man and woman may love each other, but is their love in accord with God’s will and the criterion He requires? Is their love in accord with the model of love that exists in the mind of God?If the first man and woman had become one in love based on the love of God, then they would have become that universal model of love. God surely desired that human beings display such love. The man and woman surely wanted such love from each other. It would have been true love, the very core of the universe. It would have become the standard by which all love is measured.

God’s love and human love are the same in their essence. Love is the power that strives for oneness. Why does a man long for a woman, and a woman long for a man? It is because only through a woman can a man possess God, and only through a man can a woman possess God. In other words, when a man and a woman become one in love, God is in the midst of them.

Remembering that God is the source of the duality of male and female, whenever men praise the beauty and worth of women, or women praise the merit and honor of men, they should give even greater praise to the magnificence of God.

When a woman whom God loves is in a man’s heart, and a man whom God loves is in a woman’s heart, and the two love each other even as they praise God together, God is delighted with their love and all creation rejoices. Heaven and earth rejoice to see them embracing, for it is precious in their sight. When that man and that woman embrace each other in mutual affection, the entire universe enfolds them and supports them. This is the original vision of God’s creation. It will be realized in His ideal.

God’s original design was that each man should meet a woman with whom he can rejoice, and each woman should meet a man with whom she can rejoice. More than this, their budding relationship should bring joy to God and all things of creation. Then, all creation will be mobilized for this couple and want to receive their dominion. Birds will sing for them, and butterflies will flutter and dance with joy. God will rejoice, people will rejoice, and all of creation will rejoice. Had the first human ancestors started off history by fulfilling this original plan of God, the world today would be the ideal world that God originally envisioned.

남자와 여자가 사랑을 하더라도 그것이 하나님이 세우려던 뜻과 일치하느냐, 또 하나님이 인간에게 원했던 그 기준에 일치하느냐가 문제됩니다. 남자와 여자가 사랑할 때 하나님이 생각하시는 모델적인 사랑과 일치하느냐 하는 것입니다. 하나님을 중심삼고 최초의 남자 여자가 사랑으로 하나됐다면, 그것은 사랑을 중심삼은 우주의 모델이 되었을 것이라는 결론이 나옵니다. 하나님도 인간 앞에 그러한 사랑을 원했을 것입니다. 남자와 여자도 마찬가지로 서로 상대에게 그러한 사랑을 원했을 것입니다. 그와 같은 참사랑은 우주핵이 아닐 수 없다는 것입니다. 미터법과 같은 하나의 표준형이 되는 것입니다.

하나님의 사랑과 인간의 사랑은 본질적으로 같습니다. 사랑은 하나되려고 하는 것입니다. 남녀가 서로 그리워하는 이유는 무엇입니까? 남자는 여자를, 여자는 남자를 통해서만 하나님을 소유할 수 있기 때문입니다. 곧 남녀가 사랑으로 하나된 자리에 하나님이 임재하시기 때문입니다.

이성성상의 모체가 하나님이라는 것을 생각할 때, 남자와 여자의 존엄한 가치를 찬양하는 동시에 하나님의 귀한 가치를 더더욱 찬양할 수 있는 사람이 되어야 합니다.

남자의 마음 속에는 하나님이 사랑하시는 여자가 있고, 그의 대상인 여자의 마음 속에도 하나님이 사랑하시는 남자가 있어서 함께 기리게 될 경우에는 하나님도 그것을 보고 기뻐하실 것이며, 온갖 만물도 서로 기뻐하게 될 것입니다. 그들이 서로 포옹하는 기쁨의 내용이 하늘과 땅이 함께 기뻐하는 가치가 됩니다. 남자와 여자가 서로 좋아하여 포옹하는 그것 자체가 우주가 일체를 이루는 자리가 됩니다. 하나님의 이상 가운데 이루어지는 창조 본연의 모습은 그러합니다.

원래 남자는 자신이 기뻐할 수 있는 여자를 맞이하고, 여자 역시 자신이 기뻐할 수 있는 남자를 맞이해야 합니다. 뿐만 아니라 그 한계를 넘어서서 하나님도 기뻐하고 모든 만물이 기뻐하는 만남이어야 합니다. 그러면 이 세상의 모든 존재물이 그 부부를 위해 동원되고 그들에 의해 주관받기를 원하게 됩니다. 새들은 그들을 위해 노래를 부르고, 나비는 기뻐하며 나풀나풀 춤을 추게 될 것입니다. 하나님도 기뻐하시고, 사람도 기뻐하며, 온갖 만물도 기뻐하게 될 것입니다. 이와 같은 입장을 이루어 인간 조상이 역사를 출발시켰더라면 그야말로 창조 본연의 이상세계가 되었을 것입니다.

Навіть якщо чоловік і жінка кохають одне одного, питання полягає в тому, чи узгоджується їхнє кохання з Божою волею, чи відповідає воно еталону, якого бажав Бог. Коли чоловік і жінка кохаються, питання полягає в тому, чи відповідає це зразковій любові, як її уявляє Собі Бог. Якби перші чоловік і жінка об'єдналися на основі Божої любові, вони стали б моделлю для Всесвіту, центром якого є любов. Випливає такий висновок. Бог, напевне, бажав такої любові від людей. Так само чоловік і жінка хотіли б такої любові одне від одного. Така істинна любов не може не бути ядром світобудови. Вона стала б єдиною системою стандартів, схожою на метричну систему.

За своєю суттю любов Бога та любов людини однакові. Любов — це сила, яка прагне об'єднання. Чому чоловік і жінка сумують одне за одним? Тому що чоловік може володіти Богом тільки через жінку, а жінка — тільки через чоловіка. Адже Бог спускається туди, де чоловік і жінка стають єдиним цілим у любові.

Враховуючи, що Бог є джерелом дуальних властивостей, ми повинні стати людьми, які возвеличують цінність (гідність) чоловіка та жінки, водночас ще більше возвеличуючи цінність Самого Бога.

У душі чоловіка є жінка, яку любить Бог, а в душі жінки — Його об'єкта — чоловік, якого любить Бог. Коли вони звеличують одне одного, Бог радіє, спостерігаючи за цим, і все суще теж взаємно радіє. Радість, яку відчувають чоловік і жінка, обнімаючи одне одного, набуває такої цінності, що стає радістю небес і землі. Коли чоловік і жінка з любов'ю обнімають одне одного, ці обійми є місцем, де Всесвіт стає єдиним цілим. Таким є первозданний образ, який здійснюється відповідно до Божого ідеалу.

Первісно чоловік повинен зустріти жінку, якій він може радіти, а жінка повинна зустріти такого ж чоловіка. Ба більше, Бог і все суще теж мають зрадіти їхній зустрічі. У цьому разі всі істоти в цьому світі мобілізувались би для такого подружжя та хотіли б підкорятися йому. Птахи співали б для них, а метелики пурхали б у веселому танці. Бог, людина та різноманітні створіння перебували б у радості. Якби наші прабатьки почали історію, досягнувши такого положення, якраз і виник би первозданний ідеальний світ.

Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon gave this speech on the occasion of the founding of the Universal Peace Federation on September 12, 2005. It was also given in the UPF inaugural world speaking tour to 10 nations and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations in 2006.

Peace Message I

This speech was given by both Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon during a series of assemblies for Ambassadors for Peace, Segye Times investigative reporters and other leaders in Korean society, which took place in March 2006, and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations during the same year.
