The family is the smallest unit for entering the Kingdom of Heaven and the school that provides its study material. It has all the levels: the grandparents’ level, parents’ level, husband and wife level, siblings’ level and children’s level. You can extend the love you have for your family members – your grandparents, your mother and father, your siblings and your children – to the people in the world at large who are of similar age. This is the way to extend your love to encompass all humanity. Only when you love all humanity with as much love as you give your wife and your parents, and care for the world as much as you care for your own sons and daughters, can your family inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. This is a wonderful truth. Live it, and you will have the special right to inherit all the power and authority of God who created heaven and earth.

The family is a textbook of love. It is where we can obtain the right to be registered in the Palace of Peace in the Kingdom of Heaven after we die.
The family is the school of love. It teaches us how to live in the world, which is nothing but the extension of the family. There is a world of people who resemble your grandfather, a world of people who resemble your grandmother, a world of people who resemble your father and mother, and a world of people who resemble your sons and daughters. Hence, if you expand your family, you have the world. If you love the people of the whole world as much as you love your family, and as much as you love God who cares for your family, you will be on the straight road leading to the Kingdom of Heaven. This is how you should understand the first commandment, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” And the second, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” If you love God and love humanity as much as you love your family, that’s the basis for everything. If you cannot do it, all the spiritual training you go through will be of no use. No matter how great your spiritual discipline as you follow the precepts of religion, you will fail all the tests if you do not know how to love God, humankind and the universe. In the family there is an ordered process for experiencing love, like a course of training. The school that is the family is a microcosm of the world. Therefore, you can expand on its lessons to love the world. God has given you the family where you were raised and where your mother and father live as the school where you are trained in the ways of love. You love your wife, and rightly so. But if you can love your parents more than you love your wife, love your sons and daughters more than your wife, love humanity more than your wife, and love God more than your wife, then everything will work out well. This doesn’t mean you should abandon your wife. If you love everyone this way, then everyone who received your love will also appreciate and honor your wife. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful situation? The same goes for loving your husband. If you really want to love your spouse, this is the best way.

가정은 천국에 들어갈 수 있는 최소 단위의 수련소요, 교재입니다. 거기에는 할아버지급, 어머니급, 부부급, 형제급이 다 있습니다. 이것을 할머니 할아버지 혹은 어머니 아버지 연령, 그 다음엔 자기 연령, 아들딸 연령으로 확대시킨 것이 세계 인류입니다. 이 인류를 자기 아내와 같이 사랑하고 부모와 같이 사랑하고 아들딸과 같이 위해 살 수 있는 가정만이 천국을 상속받을 수 있는 것입니다. 이 것은 놀라운 사실입니다. 하나님이 지으신 하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 상속받을 수 있는 특권이 여기 있다는 것입니다.

가정은 죽을 때 하늘나라나 평화의 왕궁에 입적할 수속권을 받을 수 있는 사랑의 교과서입니다. 가정이 사랑의 수련장이라는 것입니다. 이 가정을 확대한 것이 세계입니다. 할아버지와 같은 세계가 있고, 할머니와 같은 세계가 있고, 아버지 어머니와 같은 세계가 있고, 남편과 같은 세계가 있고, 아내와 같은 세계가 있고, 아들딸과 같은 세계가 있다는 것입니다. 이것을 확대하면 곧 세계가 된다는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 자기 가정을 사랑하듯이, 그 가정을 중심삼고 하나님을 사랑하듯이 전세계 사람을 사랑하면, 그것이 천국으로 가는 똑바른 길이 되는 것입니다. 따라서 '네 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 성품을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라'는 것이 첫째 계명입니다. 둘째는 '네 이웃 사랑하기를 네 몸과 같이 하라'는 것입니다. 하나님을 사랑하고 인류를 사랑하면 다 끝나는 것입니다. 그것을 못하면 아무리 수양을 해도 다 헛된 것입니다. 종교가 도를 아무리 닦는다 하더라도 하나님을 사랑할 줄 모르고, 인류를 사랑할 줄 모르고, 만우주를 사랑할 줄 모르면 전부 다 낙제되는 것입니다. 가정에서 전체 우주를 축소시킨 수련소와 같은 공식 과정의 사랑을 체험해 가지고 확산시켜 세계를 사랑해야 합니다. 그럴 수 있는 훈련장으로 이어받은 것이 여러분이 자란, 어머니 아버지가 사는 가정이라는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 자기 아내 사랑하는 것 이상으로 부모를 사랑하고, 자기 아내 사랑하는 것 이상으로 아들딸을 사랑하고, 자기 아내 사랑하는 것 이상으로 인류를 사랑하고, 자기 아내 사랑하는 것 이상으로 하나님을 사랑하면 다 됩니다. 그렇다고 해서 자기 아내를 버리라는 것이 아닙니다. 그렇게 모두를 사랑하게 되면, 그 사랑받은 모든 사람들이 자기 아내를 사랑하게 되는 것입니다. 그 이상 영광스러운 자리가 어디 있느냐? 자기 아내를 사랑하려거든 그렇게 하라는 것입니다.

Сім'я є підручником і найменшим освітнім закладом, який дає людині змогу ввійти в Царство Небесне. У сім'ї є всі рівні: рівень діда, рівень матері, подружній рівень, рівень братів і сестер. Людство — це сім'я, розширена таким чином, щоб охоплювати всіх людей віку наших дідуся та бабусі, віку наших батьків, нашого віку, а також віку наших дітей. Царство Небесне може успадкувати лише сім'я, здатна любити людство, як чоловік любить свою дружину, як діти люблять батьків, здатна жити заради всіх людей світу, як батьки живуть заради своїх дітей. Це дивовижно! Їй буде належати особливе право успадковувати всю владу над небом і землею, створеними Богом.

Сім'я є підручником, який дає нам змогу отримати право зареєструватися в палаці миру на Небесах, коли ми помремо. Сім'я — це майданчик для тренування в любові. Як розширення цієї сім'ї є світ дідуся та бабусі, світ батька та матері, світ чоловіка та світ жінки, а також світ синів і дочок. Якщо це збільшити, якраз і вийде наш світ. Ось чому, якщо людина любить людей усього світу так, як свою сім'ю, так, як вона любить Бога у своїй сім'ї, для неї це стане прямим шляхом до Царства Небесного.Відповідно перша заповідь: «Люби Господа Бога свого всім серцем своїм і всією душею своєю, і всією своєю думкою». А друга заповідь: «Люби свого ближнього, як самого себе». Якщо ви любите Бога і любите людей, на цьому все закінчується. Якщо ви не зумієте цього зробити, хай би скільки ви самовдосконалювалися, усе буде марно. Хоч би скільки релігія займалася духовним розвитком чи аскетичними практиками, якщо вона не навчить любити Бога, людство та Всесвіт, це буде провал. Отже, все, що вам потрібно зробити, це любити своїх батьків більше, ніж ви любите свою дружину, любити своїх синів і дочок більше, ніж ви любите свою дружину, любити людство більше, ніж ви любите свою дружину, і любити Бога більше, ніж ви любите свою дружину. Я не маю на увазі, що ви повинні її покинути. Просто, якщо ви любитимете так усіх людей, вони полюблять вашу дружину. Де знайдеться славніше положення, ніж це? Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon gave this speech on the occasion of the founding of the Universal Peace Federation on September 12, 2005. It was also given in the UPF inaugural world speaking tour to 10 nations and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations in 2006.

Peace Message I

This speech was given by both Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon during a series of assemblies for Ambassadors for Peace, Segye Times investigative reporters and other leaders in Korean society, which took place in March 2006, and in the rallies for the Return of the Homeland to God, held in 180 nations during the same year.
